The New Year

2008 has started off to a great start. Despite staying up late to ring in the new year, I was able to pull myself out of bed (or off the couch) and get to the pool tuesday morning. Instead of doing my scheduled 800M, I pushed a little further and cranked out 1000M. I showered and headed up to GF to visit some well-missed family. My cousin and her boyfriend were home from England for a couple weeks so it was nice to see them. I might have drank a little too much, but it was fun.

After returning to Fargo yesterday, I went to the gym to do my 2 miles. I ran 4, walked 1. And it went. Well. I was going to bike a bit and then lift, but I scratched the bike and just lifted. The gym was swamped with people working on their new year "resolutions" and I just didn't have the patience.

Today after school I headed for the pool. For some odd reason, they had lap swim from 4-6, which is a whole lot earlier than usual and I just couldn't pass up the opportunity! I ended up swimming 1200M. It felt good and was probably one of my best swims to date. I am still working on consistency and endurance. This will take a while, but I am okay with that!

Tomorrow I was hoping to do an early morning run; possibly 40 minutes... but I just got home from a basketball game, packed for the weekend, and am pooped. I am leaving town right after school for home. There's stuff going on in the Bis... and this girl couldn't resist! I hope the weather is nice at home... maybe I will get in a couple miles on Saturday.

I am still seriously thinking about doing some sort of "Blogland Book Club"... keep me posted if you are interested or possibly interested ... and let me know of any ideas you might have!

Have a great weekend, y'all!

What would you do in the book club?

Great job working out.

On the BC, we could try a few things. Maybe start with a shared blog. What ideas have you got?

Great workouts!!

I love bookclubs, even though wit school and work, it leaves me with very little time.

I can't wait to hear details. :)

Have a great weekend! If you are getting the opportunity to swim twice a week, one of those days you should do longer swims, like 4x200, or 3x300, or 2x400, etc...

You would be well on your way to building endurance !

Geek.

I'll make sure to let you know more about the Indoor Tri in Chanhassen when I hear about it. There's nothing out on it yet...

I would love to do a book club but, unfortunatly, the only thing I read lately is Nursing books.

Looks like you've got good interest in the book club. The Wall Street Journal does a virtual book club, where they put up four possibilities and everyone votes. Then you have a month to read the winning entry and from there it's discussed thru comments. You could do it!

A book club sounds fun! I've always wanted to join one, but with school & work, I'm not sure if I'd have time to keep up.

I hate having to deal with the resolutions people too. When I'm there, and have been going there, and you're suddenly causing the gym to be busier and getting in my way...well...at least you know by Feb they are going to be done again. :)
