I will be gone...

.... but not forever.

I am heading out tomorrow to move my stuff into my new place. I will most likely be unpacking and organizing for the few days after that. From there, we are taking off for Chicago, stopping in the Twin Cities to see my sister and her hubby. I will have internet access a week from tuesday, so you will see me then! Hehehe :)

On a side note. The knee is doing much better. It was the weirdest thing. I could turn my leg in different directions and it would crack, over and over again. Last night, it got to the point where I couldn't straighten it without something pinching. I iced, stretched, and took some ibuprofen. I went to bed with my leg propped up a bit. It was a little stiff the morning, but throughout the day it has gotten a whole lot better. Depending on how it feels after moving all my stuff, I might attempt a short run sunday night. We'll see!

Have a great weekend!

Click-Clack.....

.... Don't Come Back.

I couldn't believe how nice it was for my run this morning. What I really wanted to do was 4 miles today, and then 7 tomorrow. But, with how perfect the temperature was, I just had to go all the way. I chose an out-and-back path, mostly along the golf course, river, and through the park. There was just enough shade from the huge trees, and the breeze was wonderful!

The first 50 minutes were perfect. I ran about 7-9 minutes with 1 minute walk breaks. I felt like everything was insync. Then, I stopped to grab a powerade from the machine in the park, took a few minutes to drink it, and then was on my happy way.

About 7 minutes in, my right knee started making a clickity-clack noise. I stopped to walk, and ended up walking for almost 7 minutes. Talk about discouraging. The first half+ was wonderful... what's the deal now? I struggled with the last couple miles, taking more walk breaks than I wanted to.

But, I finished and tomorrow I will most likely take a rest day. Maybe I will go for a three mile walk with my sister.

Smokin'

Okay, so I wasn't smokin' fast, but I was faster today than I was on saturday. And that has got to mean something.

I was really hoping to get up and do a long run this morning, but with the stiff legs and the heavy humidity I decided not to. Instead, I opted to go for a spin on the bike ... in the afternoon... with this heat?

Anyway. While I was flyin' by.... a nasty bug flew in my mouth. It was only a natural reaction to cough... and then spit it out. Well, in the process of doing so, this lady on her bike coming my way gave me the most evil look.... as if she was very disappointed. I wanted to spit on her. Besides, why is it necessary to dress nice, wear tons of make-up, big earings, and a lot of perfume while out on the bike? She reaked! I could almost taste her perfume in the split second it took to pass her. Crazy woman.

I will probably won't be posting or commenting for a short while. I will be taking a long weekend, next weekend, to take a trip down to Chicago for a Jazz festival. I am sooo pumped!
