Almost Friday

Last night I took the night off from the gym as I participated in 1 of the 2 sessions for CPI training... an intervention training for behavior students. I hope we get to learn how to restrain kids because there have definitely been a few occasions this year so far that I could have used that. I think I will find the training beneficial, especially since I am party of the "Crisis Intervention Team" at school.

This afternoon I went to the gym to do my 35 minutes on the thillmill. Well, we all know how dificult it is to get on those machines for more than 30, especially this time of year. It didn't help that this chic was on an extra five minutes, turned back to look at me as I am standing there waiting and asks "are you waiting for this machine..." ... "ah, yeah!"

I only got 23 minutes. But a strong 23 minutes of running. A little over 2 miles. That's sub 12 minute miles! For some reason, although the run went fine, an hour later my knee was clicking again. Damnit. This better stop before I start training for the half marathon. I think it might have to do with me walking a little strange from a sore hamstring ... due to lifting tuesday night. I hope that more stretching, icing, and strengthing of the legs will help.

Tomorrow's Friday, payday... which means it is also "jeans day". And then I am off to GF to get in some SIOUX hockey!

Have a wonderful weekend, y'all! Good luck to all those doing their half marathons this weekend!

I had to break up a fight once and got in trouble for restraining the out of control teenage girl. I was so baffled. Glad you are getting some training on how to do it!

Good job on your run. Even though it was shorter than you'd planned.

Have fun in GF this weekend!

Hey, I still say, if someone ahead of you takes up your time, then go ahead and go over...when someone comes up on your explain hey, not my fault, I set it for 30 and you can see it hasn't finished yet!! Gym this time of year does sucks...

Boy, your gym must be hopping! I know mine is busier, but I go at a less busy time, so I can't imagine. I hope your knee is OK.

Enjoy your weekend!

That is crazy that you learn CPI for school! I learned 2 - one for adults for when I worked at some psych hospitals and one for kids when I worked with Children's Aid.

Great sound run!! Keep up the great work.

My CPI training wasn't really that good, but we had a really bad instructor. Hopefully yours was better!

And YEA for jeans day, you know I'm jealous!

I'm glad you had a good run, even if it was cut short. I can't believe that hoochie didn't get off! LOL! You were probably over compensating somehow b/c of your hamstring, and although you didn't feel it at the time, your knee probably made up for it somehow. I wouldn't be too concerned.

Crisis intervention team? Oh my.

Great running. I bet the knee will come along fine, probably a little lifting twinge. I got one in my knee last night too, on my last squat. It didn't feel right the rest of the night but I think it is fine today. Fingers crossed, for both of us.
