What's this funk?

I knew I wasn't going to make it to the gym this morning, so I slept in until 5:45. I had to get to work early as I had a meeting and plenty of paperwork to try to finish up. I thought that if I felt rested and better this afternoon I would take advantage of the nice weather and run outside.

That didn't happen. Being locked up in the building all day I felt like my allergies were being aggravated. When I left work and headed to the house to do a few things, the fresh air felt good but not good enough to get me out and do something.

I feel like I am in some sort of funk. I cleaned up at the house a bit, unloading a few boxes that I brought over, putting the face plates back on the walls in the master bedroom, and headed home.
I just feel, icky.

I made my favorite post-workout snack, even if I didn't workout, it hit the spot.
Strawberry Banana Smoothie:
1/2 large banana
4 large strawberries
1 cup white grape juice
1 serving of whey protein powder (using the measuring cup with it ... I like to use chocolate)
1 cup ice
...blend well.....mmm.... it's so yummy!

Hopefully tomorrow I will make it to the gym. Tonight I will be doing some more paperwork... at home. There is definitely something wrong with this idea.

I think I know what your new home is in need of...a treadmill. Better yet, just get out and do a 30-minute run. That will clear your head. Come on, you know you want to. ;-)

That smoothie sounds divine!

I wouldn't worry about the funk as you are going through a major life change (buying a home and moving) plus you seem very busy at work.

You are so consistent with your workouts and your time management and organization that I think you can afford to cut yourself a bit of slack if you need to without losing any fitness at all!

Above all don't beat yourself up about a couple of missed workouts. You will be back on track before you know it.

A funk? I think you're just exhausted from working on your new house. Which, by the way, counts as cross training in my book. :-)

Yummy! Packing & Unpacking - most assuredly counts as cross-training. No worries! :D

Give yourself through this week to get adjusted, sometimes the stress/excitement of getting situated can just wear you down. Try to get as much of a workout in as you can, but if you're beat - listen to your body and rest. Then next week, if you're still feeling like "resting" too much...time for tough love! Chances are you'll be totally ready to crush your workouts!!!
BTW- I am TOTALLY craving that shake right now!!!

Don't feel bad. You have tons of stuff going on. You will get back into it!! The colors sound pretty. Now I can't wait to see it to see if I am close.

With all of the things going on in your life, you're probably just exhausted- mentally and physically. Don't worry about your "funk." We're all allowed to have them! Good luck getting up in the morning, I'm sure you'll do it!

MMmmm... that smoothie looks good.

Yes, funks bite! Take comfort in knowing that we all go through them. One of the folks above mentioned that you have gone through a lot lately... and I agree. Definitely keep that in mind. Your body/mind just probably went through a phase of 'overstimulation' and it's pooped! I'm sure you will feel better next week. :o)

Paperwork and the process of moving is enough to put ANYONE in a funk. Chill out and get some rest. You will be back in business in no time.
