These are a few of my favorite things...

During this holiday season, I am reminded of a handful of things that I look forward to every year....

  • sipping hot (homemade) Tom and Jerry's
  • going out for coffee with the family
  • the smell of my parent's fraser fir Christmas tree
  • falling asleep on the couch with the white lights on the tree glowing
  • wearing sweats and sweatshirts
  • being able to watch the Today Show from start to finish for almost 2 weeks
  • mom's caramel korn popcorn
  • watching old Christmas movies
  • white Christmas
  • crowding into my Grandparent's house to open Christmas gifts on Christmas Eve.
  • Snowmobiling up at the farm
  • holiday music
  • warm fireplace
  • bundling up and doing a 5K through our zoo just before the new year, in freezing temps
  • pretty presents under the tree
  • watching an endless amount of basketball games on TV
  • listening to Mannheim Steamroller's Christmas story
  • singing along at Christmas Mass
  • baking goodies for friends and family
  • decorating the house
  • cuddling up under a blanket with a good book
  • laughing and reminiscing over past Christmas stories

What are your favorite things?

Merry Christmas to all!

I LOVE your favorite things... some of them I can relate to- sweat pants and sweat shirts, falling sleep next to a lit Christmas tree, getting coffee with friends (annual tradition that we're missing being here in AZ), and family recipes, whatever they might be.

(sigh)
Wonderful Christmas to you! Enjoy your FIRST CHRISTMAS in your FIRST HOUSE!! How exciting! Wait until after Xmas and then run and buy a bunch of decorations for next year. IT sucks to wait, but that's what we did and it was so much cheaper!!!

Great list. Enjoy all of that this year. the items in that list that we don't share, i miss. except the snowmobiling. we don't do that here.

And you can add from me the looks on your kids faces when they see what santa claus brought them. My eldest (age 3 1/2) is getting her first bike tomorrow. she's going to freak out! i can't wait.

MMmm, the smell of christmas trees is definitely up there on the list. What is homemade Tom and Jerrys? I was thinking you meant Ben & Jerrys but that wouldn't be hot, and you wouldn't sip!

What a delightful list!

Wish I had more time to type now, but heading out to supper shortly. One of the favorite things of the season I'd put on my list would be Christmas cards with handwritten catch-up letters. Don't ask me how many of those I wrote this year! ;-)

My FAVORITE favorite thing is my nephew's hysterical laugh when he gets tickled. It's musical.

Merry Christmas.
Honestly, with moving to the South I think we will have to make new traditions and find new things to love.

Great list! We don't hardly ever get a white Christmas here. It's usually cold, but today it was 70. Never is 70 degrees....

Merry Christams!

I like your list too. My favorite holiday tradition is exchanging cards, photos and letters with old friends and family. It's the only time of the year I hear from many of them.
