In April when heading to the cities to fly out to AZ with the sis, I brought a winter storm that caused our flight to be delayed; last spring we got 9 inches of snow on the day I planned on traveling home for Easter; this summer when traveling to the cities with a cousin we drove through tornado cells; and last week we were under a winter storm watch when I left Fargo to head home to Bismarck for Christmas.
Now, we are under a winter storm warning until 1pm today.... when I was planning on heading back to Fargo later this morning. If the weather is decent around noon, I will leave, but I am keeping an eye on the ND DOT website and watching the road conditions. I had plans to head to the cities tomorrow and spend 2 or 3 days there with my sister and brother-in-law, but that might have to wait until Thursday.
Yesterday morning I went to the gym and had a short Brick workout planned. 45 minutes on the bike and 15 minute run-off on the thrillmill. It's been so long since I have done a Brick workout and it felt great to get one in. The transition from cycling to running can be quite difficult and my legs definitely felt heavy and tight, but it was only a matter of a few minute before I felt comfortable with my stride. I look forward to doing more of these in 2009!
Monday Workout:
BRICK:
Bike 16.21 miles, 45:00, 21.63mph
Run 1.25 mile, 15:00, 12:00/mile average

Nice job on the brick!!! Hope you get on the road without too many weather problems.
I love the brick workout. Crossing fingers for good weather.
Great job with your workout!!! The same thing happens with my daughter. My baby shower, snowed out. I got forced out of the hospital a day early cause of the blizzard coming. First b-day same thing...
I hope the weather works in your favor. You guys have had such bad storms the past few weeks!
Good job on the brick
One thing you have no control over is the weather. Just do the best with what you can. :-)
OOOOH your brick workout sounds fun! Maybe I'll swim and run today! You've inspired me.
Good luck with your travels.
Nice brick.
Hope you're able to travel. We had to ditch our Christmas travel plans due to road conditions. Hopefully yours improve!
Great brick Teachy. Good luck with the travels.
Our state cannot catch a break this winter! If you do head out, be careful!
You're just stiring up trouble all over the place, arn't you? ;-) Have a Happy New Year!
I hope the weather gets it's stuff together so you can spend some time with your sis.
Saw the pics of the snow what a crazy snowy mess. Yet the baking that got done looked delish!
Have a great new year Stacy! Your 2009 list looks great, here is to you staying healthy and strong in 09 and rocking those races!
Great job with the brick. I have decided to do at least one brick a week. From what I have been reading it is good to do, even if it is just a short 5-15 min run, to keep the legs used to the transition
Hope your weather is improving
Awesome job on the brick!! Very good. I read your goals for 2009, sounds like a lot of great race ideas! and know you can do it.
B2B seems like a great race - have had friends do it, and it's part of the setup events, so they do a great job with the races!
Safe travels, i hope the weather cooperates :) Great workout with the brick! Happy New Year!
I'm sorry the weather is crummy and not cooperating... hopefully it clears up for you.
Great job getting the brick workout done. I'm proud of you!
Have a safe trip.
Hope mother nature starts to be nicer to you.

Stay safe in your travels. That weather is nasty.
Hope you made it back and had a great New Years!
I'm just getting caught up on your blog. Way to start the year (or end it I guess...) off with a brick... better yet that you enjoyed it! Hope the weather held up!
