Closing the books for April

I went out for a short recovery run yesterday after school since the weather was cooperating. (If you want to hear a funny story ... ask me what the weather is predicting for Friday, May 2nd, 2008!) The run got cut a bit shorter as my right calf was still tight from my long run. I woke this morning with no soreness and planned to run a nice Fartlek this afternoon. Check. After the run, I was a little sore. I probably did too much mileage in the past week and a half after a week and a half off. Oops. I lifted a bit, focusing on my legs ... and then off to spin I was ... testing out my new cycling shoes!

LoVeD them! It's a completely different world!

Where the heck did April go? I have made the executive decision that I will be cashing in yet another rest day on the last day of April. With that ... the numbers are in for April ...

APRIL OVERALL:
OSN: 5600M ...............goal was 8000M
OCN: 48.07 miles .......goal was 65 miles
ORN: 45.26 miles .......goal was 50 miles

I didn't make any of my goals for the month of April, but I thought this was pretty productive considering the fact that I only worked out 15 days this month. Eeks. That will be different next month .. fo really reals. The weather is getting nicer ... I gots me a new bike ... no excuses! .... and .....

GOALS FOR MAY ...
OSN: 8,000M
OCN: 80 miles
ORN: 60 miles

Finish strong, y'all!

Yesterday's Workout:
ORN: 2.11 miles, 26:12 minutes, 12:25 min/mile

Today's Workout:
ORN: 2.76 miles, 30 minutes, 10:52 min/mile
OCN: 21.87 miles, 57 minutes, 23mph

Great numbers :-) I hope the weather is kinder to you in May! Knock on wood...

I used to have issues with cramping and tightness in my calves. Since I started strength training, those seem to have gone away.

You got a half mary coming up soon? right??

So what is the weather prediction for Friday. Those are good numbers for only 15 days worth of work. You should have no prob meeting May's goals now that the weather is getting better

Even if you didn't meet your goal, you have a LOT to be proud of with those numbers!

SNOW in MAY? Girl, you gotta move to a new state!

Nice numbers for April.

And now is when I thank the weather gods that they're giving us rain instead of snow for Friday. Because I know it could still be snow here in Wisconsin. I'll cross my fingers for you that the weathermen are wrong. :)

15 days of quality workouts are better than 25 days of so-so workouts. As long as you gave it your all (which I'm sure you did), definitely be proud!

I can't believe you guys are getting snow... in MAY... up there! Wowza!!!

Awesome numbers - you were so close to your goal and did so with only 15 days - you'll nail May. :D

For really reals, you still kicked butt.

I love spin class with cycling shoes. So much better. I read somewhere that you actually burn more calories too. Not sure if that's true, but it's good to think.

Your numbers are looking good, and I'm sure the bike numbers will go sky high with the new bike and now that the snow is melting.

Good luck in your half mary!.
