run in near 80 degrees with 22-30mph wind gusts and the sun beating down on you?

run in a most-likely-humid gym on the infamous dreadmill?
Well, I just couldn't bear the idea of doing another dang run on the treadmill. I figured it was going to be too humid in the gym for my liking (which increases the amount of stinky men) and thought a cool breeze (breeze being the operative word) would feel good on a nice short outdoor run.
Turned out it was only 77 degrees, but the sun was scorching, and I knew there was something I forgot to check before I left... the UV index. 7. oops... a bit high. It was only 5 when I burnt myself sunday. Luckily this time I remembered the sports sunscreen with ultra sweatproof protection! ha! yeah, righ.
I must have been running at a good pace (when I was running) because I did quite a bit of walking and thought the sun was going eat me alive. The wind gusts, when present, were horrible. I was dying out there and sweating like a ____________? .........feel free to fill in the blank as you wish.

outside. Both are a challenge, but one has a change of scenery, please take advantage while you can :)
I would of picked outside too!! That's some good training!!!
(please) equals (plus) sorry just got off the plane :)
Definitely would've picked outside also.Dreadmill's are a necessary evil
I would have picked outside as well.
Tough time of the year for running. Hot inside and hot outside.
Thanks for the book review of Eric Clapton. It was really informative.
Way to go, UV index 7, hot out there!! I am lame and always run on the treadmill if its over 70ish out or humidity is high. You get much more out of an outdoor (real) run.
May I just say that your blog layout kicks ass these days? I go away for a few weeks and you redo the whole place :)
think of the wind as resistance training!!
i choose to run outdoors almost always when it is a reasonable alternative. the dreadmill is dreadful.
I would have chosen to go outside too. How did the ultra sweatproof sunscreen work? I sweat way to much for it to work.
I can't stand the treadmill.
Yeeeaahhh but are they stinky HOT men? Because I could deal with that if there was some eye treats involved LOL
I say outside too!
Great work!
Take Care
I would have picked outside too. How'd the sunscreen work? Even though it's supposed to be sweat proof, I always sweat it off...right into my eyes. Ugh.
Nice job on the run though!
I agree. Outside. Looks like your streaking is going AWESOME! That's just amazing.
I have been attending a math training this week and I have not been able to get myself out to run in the evening. I need to follow your lead.
P.S. We do start school after Labor Day, which is why we get out so late. We also have a mid-winter break in addition to winter and spring break.
Definitely outside. To me the wind is almost worse than the sun, although when it's hot at least some type of breeze makes it a bit more bearable.
I can't stand the wind though and we get a lot of it around here.
Good job getting out there and getting it done!

Wind running can be counted as hill work. See there is a plus side to everything.
Just don't forget the Sun Screen!!!
Love that you ran outside. I'll pick that choice any day over the hamster wheel. :)
Going outside in the most horrible conditions beats staying inside any day. Nice choice.
Pf Chang's. :>D Want to come and run it?
That would be awesome!! There was a huge blogger group here last year and hopefully many of them will return! Would love to meet you!
I would have braved the outside as well. Great job in getting it done. I will pass on filling in the balnk but did all the explecitives in my mind.
Thanks for all the great songs and what to do with them on my blog. LOVED it huge help!
I definitely opt to the outside...gym just doesn't do it for me and you're right on the stink factor!
