11 Weeks ... The Countdown Begins...Now.

This morning I was finally able to join the group for a ride and there was only four of us, me and three of da boys. We went out on the route we took the first time I went with the group, stretching it a bit longer and taking a path along the river. When comparing the two rides, today was faster and further in less time than my first ride. All good, right?! If we wouldn't have had to stop for a train and wait at a few red lights, I think my average speed would have been well above 13mph. I now know what it feels like to go 22mph on a bike... yikes!

Between the ride today and reading outside at the coffee shop later... I might have gotten too much sun. Wait... I know I got too much sun. Damnit, forgot to re-apply the sunscreen. What's worse than runners tan lines, Marcy? Cycling tan lines on top of them...
The streaking has continued with the weight loss at a stand still, somewhat. At least I am not gaining weight, right? Here's what the streak looks like thus far....

Total days: 22 (20:00:09)
# of Swims: 8 (4:31:00)
# of Rides: 9 (6:47:41)
# of Runs: 8 (3:54:28)
# of ST: 3 (1:02:00)
# of Walks: 2 (1:02:00)
# of Turbo Sculpt Sessions: 2 (1:20:00)
# of Turbo Ab Jam Sessions: 4 (1:20:00)
# of Softball Games: 4

I have been so caught up with streaking this month that the training for my next triathlon has been put on the back burner, so to speak. In a way, I have been training, but not with a definite plan in mind. I have 11 weeks to the day to train. No worries here. I just need to find a training plan or make my own... 11 weeks. 11 weeks.

Calling all triathletes....

Is there anything you can think of that I need to keep in mind with my training plan??

What, no eu de manure on this ride?! I've been trying to even out some unsightly tan lines too. It's a losing battle until they make a bathing suit with extra padding youknowwhere!

Would you want to run with rules like that? And I do NOT want to be here during that season! :)

Streak is looking great! The WL will come no doubt. Sweet on the ride, but those tan lines had me rolling over here.

Are you doing the sprint or the olympic????

Get the "12 Week Triathlete" book. You should be able to jump right into the plan based on your race date.

Nice lines :-)

Just a note to say hello. This morning I've followed all comments regarding bikes. What a wonderful world I'm finding via blogging!
Anyway, just finished a sprint tri yesterday- it was awesome. Had a blast.
As far as training wisdom, look up Coach Al Lyman. Website is coach-al.com. He writes all my hubby's cycling plans and I am currently training for St. George Marathon on one of his plans. He is awesome and his plans are about SMART training not junk miles on bikes or runs. Every workout has a purpose!

Wow! Look at those tan (er, burn) lines! Ouch! I hope you have an aloe vera plant nearby... and some lidocaine. Whew!

As far as training plans go, there is one at BeginnerTriathlete.com that is for an Oly. I'm pretty sure you are doing a sprint, but you could look at the Oly plan and scale it down to sprint needs. It's a balanced plan with short & long workouts in each discipline. When you get to BT.com, just search for 16 week Olympic- 2x balanced.

My own words of wisdom, definitley include a -40% recovery week every 4th week of training until it's time to taper. I can't even begin to describe how wonderful I feel this week after having a recovery week last week. Like a new woman!!!

Stay motivated! 11 weeks is enough time to get you ready b/c you have a good base, but it's not 'so much' time that you can slack. You're going to do great! Keep up the great work!

Nice tan lines!

I'm following a training program from the Idiot's Guide to Triathlons. It seems to be working OK.
