I'm Listening

After all your wonderful comments and advice in regards to my post yesterday, I decided to can my short run yesterday afternoon and head home to relax. I have been going going going all week and with trying to get over this sinus infection, I was starting to run out of gas. I was going to do my short run this morning, but instead chose to sleep in and rest. I need to just chilax a bit.

Thank you all, for being my voice of reason!

In addition to that, many of you made comments about my cramping while swimming, saying that it was probably due to not getting enough electrolytes. Many of you suggested trying Nuun. I do happen to have a package of Nuun in my cupboard but just have never tried it. I guess I just never knew when the right time was to take it. Any suggestions?

Well, I am off to work... and then heading home to Bismarck this afternoon! Happy Friday, everyone!

I carry nuun on all of my shorter runs instead of water. If you take a water bottle to masters, drop a nuun tablet in there. Same at the gym for spinning or whatever. Perhaps try it for a week and see if the cramping is better..

I have no experience with Nuun so I can't offer any advice there. I am happy though that you took some rest time and got some extra sleep. Sometimes that makes all the difference!

An hour or two before your workout eat a banana. Craping will be gone.

Just ran across your blog. Love it. I've been at physical therapy for the last 3 months learning how to work on my core strength - ordering the book today! Looking forward to following you :)

Last night (before I read your blog) I was swimming with a pro triathlete and she was talking Nuun up big time (they don't even sponsor her so this was genuine endorsements). She said it was a great way to get the electrolytes without a lot of calories. I want to give it a try too. Keep us posted.

Good job on getting some rest. I hope you are feeling better.

Nuun rocks! I use it after long runs and I use a whole tablet in 16 oz of water, but I secretly want to drink it all the time...

I like to dring Nuun while I am swimming. For some reason, plain water is hard for me to choke down when swimming. The Nuun has a refreshing taste. I hope you are over your infection soon!

I just realized that I asked about your TriPower and I am totally not a new follower and did know what it was last year and then just forgot haha. I'm glad you are taking a rest though, thats the only way you are going to get better!

Keep a close watch on your sinus infection. Those things can sneak back on you with a vengeance.
