February 2008 - In Review

... A few days later ...

  • 1 - the number of weekends I was out of town
  • 3 - the number of back to back workouts
  • 3 - the number of times I got on a bike ... eeks
  • 5 - the number of times I got in the pool ... wtf?
  • 6 - the most days I worked out in a row
  • 12 - the number of times I ran; 2 miles being the shortest... 6.55 miles being the longest
  • 12 - the number of Rest days.... blech.

OVERALL:
OSN: 6300 meters (less than last months 7900)
OCN: 42 miles (isty bitsy more than january's 41.36)
ORN: 39.45 miles (compared to last month's 30.57)

I am okay with that. Not so okay with ALL the rest days and lack of getting on the bike or in the pool. I am just going to come out and say it... March is going to be complete Madness and I am not just referring to basketball here people. I need to get my butt in gear for this tri. It has been a challenge to train for this tri and half at the same time. I don't know how to juggle it all and where/when to focus on what. I guess I have let the bike slide as it seems to be the least of my worries. I need to start incorporating more brick workouts and possibly some more two-a-days once maybe twice a week. I am currently dealing with this ankle issue and am not too pleased with it all. Frankly, I am afraid of what will come of my "scheduled" 8 mile run this weekend. But, I am going to be optimistic and take it one day at a time. Soon, I am going to have to sign up for this half marathon.

Feb numbers look good to me!

Tri training is tricky - you have to learn to juggle things.

That is a strong month.. and those numbers are very consistent! Getting down the rest days will automatically push those up even further. Go for the half!

I was going to write the same thing! With the half coming up this weekend I feel so unprepared for my tri in a few weeks! It does feel like a ton to balance and I need to do a better job of spacing things out!

Wow, March will indeed be madness. If you find that training for the tri AND the half is just too much, don't be afraid to drop one of them and focus on the other. There's no shame in that. Good luck with your March training!

I think you did a great job with your February training, BTW.

I think those numbers look good! But I totally understand, Feb hasn't been the best for me digits wise either *sigh* Here's to a good March!

Feb Stinks! March is where it all begins to take shape.

Tri training has to be tough with so many things to juggle. But you're doing okay and March will only be better!

I've found it quite challenging meshing several different plans together (running races/tri training). And, it is taking some double up days too.

You should be very proud of this figures!

You can do it. February looked good but I know you want more. It's actually smart to ease into it a bit!! Have a great March!

I swim twice a week, bike twice a week and run twice a week during tri season. I make one bike ride a week a brick. It seems to be plenty at least for sprint tris.

You are such a superstar, seriously. You need to give yourself more credit b/c even in a "bad" month for you, it's a GREAT month, so don't be so hard on yourself. I totally commend your dedication to your fitness so keep up the hard work!
