A bit of a recap

Last week was week 2 of what I would like to call "Potential Half Marathon Training". I still haven't decided if that's the distance I want to train for in the Fargo Marathon or not, but I am trying to work towards that - juggling getting back into swim team practices and keeping up with my biking and strength training in the process....

Let's see what this past week looked like:

3 complete REST days...
2 swims totally 4100yds...
only 4.2 miles of running - total...
22.67 miles of biking - two separate ocassions...
1 BodyPump session...
a lot of stress at work...
a bit of exhaustion by Friday...
not used to these long swim sessions...
trying to find a the balance...
super sore from BodyPump...
absolutely NO yoga or Pilates...
hoping week 3 will be better....and consistent.

Did you all have a great weekend? Mine was pretty low key, except for a birthday dinner and out for drinks with a few friends! No big Valentine's celebration here.

Are you training for anything? If so, what?

It was quiet here too, skating the canal, skating at the community centre, skiing, and cleaning!!!

As for training hmmm, a century tour in June, 8k race in June, nothing really this year....but you never know!

Wow, you sure did a variety of training workouts:) Good job on accomplishing so much! My work week also had a lot of stress and it is hard to balance everything out at times!! I am currently training for several half marathons:) Happy Monday!!

at least you're still getting some workouts in. kelley wants me to keep training and run the marathon that i'm signed up for even after all the stresses of moving that week. i can't tell if it's just a ploy to kill me or she just doesn't want me to reschedule and find another marathon.

I'm training for a half, so i'm mostly running with cross training tossed in the mix.

It looks to me like you are training for a triathlon! I think that is where your passion lies...

Just sayin' :D

I'm training for a half on May 2nd. And I have a 10K in the middle of march. No BIG goals here. But I'm looking forward to my little races.

I've always been impressed with people who can juggle multiple sports. I'm even more impressed now that I've seen how my body is NOT juggling shoveling and running well. I'm sure you'll settle in soon.

Not training for anything for sure but have a 10K run inthe back of my mind in March....

Great job with those swim workouts! It seems really difficult to fit in all of those different workouts/sports every week. I hope this week is less stressful. I'm sending stress-free vibes your way.

I'm getting back into training for various races. I had bunion surgery in August 2009. My first race will be a 5 mile trail race in March. I am doing an indoor tri at the local YMCA in March as well. Good luck with all your training!

I'm training for a half-marathon this spring. I've never done one before, but I think it might be the right distance for me.. because I seem to have more endurance than speed.
As for your question on my blog, S&S means Strength & Stretch, sorry I didn't clarify that!

I'm training for labor, so you know, eating, sleeping, whatnot :)

Sounds like you had a much more productive week than I did. You're doing great!

Nice variety on the week! I'm training for the Green Bay Half Marathon in May, but soon I've got to add in triathlon training since my first tri of the year is a month after the half marathon!

Finding a balance...

I think that is the never ending goal! I am jealous of your pool time...despite my best efforts, I have has zero pool time in 2010 thus far and I am negative in the pilates department too!!!

I'm about to kick off training for the Cherry Blossom 10 Miler. But I'm lacking a little bit in the motivation department with all the snow on the ground.

It looks like we both ran in Fargo in 2008. That was my first marathon and it was soooo hot! I did it again in 2009 and the weather was perfect. Good luck with your traiining and I'll keep checking in.

Well, you have a lot of time to decide about the Fargo half, but I think you can do it with a slow, consistent build up.
