Running and Music

It's been one of those weeks. We all have them.

Things just aren't going as smoothly as I would like with some paperwork, causing unnecessary frustration and stress. There's nothing I can do about it but just keeping plugging away, doing what I can, and looking for the positives...

On that note, I am going to change into my running clothes and head out for a nice little run.... there's nothing like pounding the pavement with music blaring in my ears to diminish some stress. It's 64 degrees, sunny, and I look forward to the fight with the wind (gusting 25-35mph).

Getting my heart pumping, whether it be through running, biking or swimming, along with listening to music are probably the two biggest things that make me feel better.

Does anyone else find this to be therapeutic? How do you deal with stress?

My first reason for becoming a runner was stress relief. It is still one of the most important benefits for me. If I don't run for a couple of days in a row, I become increasingly difficult to live with.

There is very little a good run won't cure in my opinion. I hope your run helps!

I know exactly what you mean! Recently especially running has really helped me to become less stressed and have a positive attitude! Enjoy the run in the nice weather!

i absolutely know what you mean...which is why the cause of my stress, not being able to run, is putting me in a giant stress circle.

Add me to the list. Running (or biking) and music are the way I de-stress. I think it's because I can just go out and not have to think about a single thing, except maybe traffic. Good way to clear my head.

Hope you enjoyed your run!

Running definitely helps to relieve stress. Plus, it makes you feel accomplished which is nice too.

I'm having one of those weeks too... :( I'm with you on the running. Intervals are a great stress buster. Just throw your frustration or anger behind that interval and watch what happens. Hmmm, I have intervals on my schedule today...!!

In the funkiest of all my funks, the only thing that helps is a good run with either good friends or killer music. And I RUN HARD.

A good run does more than just help mentally, it also releases much needed endorphins to help you feel better physically. I <3 a good run or bike ride when I'm having a bad day - best cure ever! :)

If you wanna go beyond that, try thinking of something hilarious so you can be running down the street laughing to yourself - that always cracks me up!! ;)
