What's in your gym bag?

Somedays I feel like I spend more time getting ready for the next day's workout, taking stuff out of my gym bag, putting in into another, adding stuff to the gym bag....etc. So, in the process of putting together my gym bag for today, I was wondering if anyone else feels as if they are constanting filling and emptying their gym bag... So after work, I have a scheduled spin session with a short run afterwards.... and then to a friends for grey's anatomy night. Here's what's in my gym bag today....
  • heart rate monitor and watch
  • ipod
  • two pairs of socks
  • underwear
  • three pairs of shoes ( 1 for cycling, 1 for running, and then tennis shoes for afterwards)
  • tank top
  • sports bra
  • shorts
  • a pair of jeans
  • a long sleeved shirt
  • shampoo and conditioner
  • shower gel
  • towel
  • mousse
  • headbands, bobby pins, and ponytails (can never have too many)
  • lock for locker
  • two packs of sports beans
  • water bottle
  • gatorade

What's in your gym bag?

I never use the gym, so I don't have anything packed. Sorry. I can't play.

yea.. this used to bug me forever. So now I have just this in my bag:
1. A shirt
2. Shorts
3. MasterLock

I wear my running shoes from home to work. I have a pair of work shoes there that I basically wear all day and then leave them there. So this way I don't have to carry any shoes. I hate hauling stuff around!

Lucky for me I don't get ready at the gym. All I ever bring is notepad (for weights) & ipod. Or if I'm swimming, my normal swim supplies. Plus spray leave-in pre-swim conditioner.

Ah yeah, isn't the gym bag fun? Mine has my sports watch, my HRM (for when I do decide to use it some more), shorts, shoes, top, sports bra, pony holders, the typical stuff for showering and getting ready...I used to have a hairdryer and curling iron on occasion too. Oh, towel and lock too...Usually I don't get ready at the gym but when I do it takes a lot of stuff. Oh my MP3 player is in there too...and I'm going to start swimming soon and will be adding swim suit, goggles and maybe swim cap too...sigh...

I probably have the outfit I wore to work on Tuesday, since I had to change to run that afternoon.

Crap. That's a lot of stuff. I don't have to get ready/shower at gym, so I just have the basics.

My gym bag is currently empty, since I haven't been to the Y since March. But once I do head back indoors, it'll just have the general stuff, since I hit the gym after work and shower at home.

HOw big is your bag?

I just have a towel, lock and MP3 player.

If I am showering, I will have a change of clothes, shampoo, conditioner and a brush. BUt that rarely happens.

wow... I have all of those EXACT items except for the ipod!

I am not sure about my gym bag, but getting ready for school the next day seems like a similarly daunting challenge at times. I keep most of those things pre-packed in my bag for when I want to run.

In response to your comment...

The spray in stuff I like is from Biolage. I got it at Trade Secret. Here's the info I got off the internet...
Biolage Protective Hair Oil
-Protects hair from sun, chlorine and salt water
-Prevents the drying effects of sun, chlorine and saltwater
-Leaves hair soft, shiny and tangle-free
-Adds instant softness, shine and moisturization
-Safe for color-treated hair

I don't know if you wear a swim cap, but that's pretty important to protect the hair. Otherwise, for hair care as long as I stick with high quality salon products, I haven't had a problem with my color turning funky from the chlorine. I don't even use the color protecting stuff, I get the moisturizing conditioners instead. I like the Biolage, Nexxus and Halo lines the best! Hope that helps :-)

I have a teeny, tiny swim bag that I keep:

a) goggles

c) inhaler
d) swim watch
e) swim cap

That is it. :>P

I'm constantly reconfiguring the contents of my bag depending on whether I'm swimming, running or coaching a soccer practice. When I go swimming, here's what's in my bag:
- Tyr jammer-style swim suit
- Speedo Hydrospex goggles
- Speedo Vanquisher goggles
- anti-fog solution
- eye drops
- two swim caps
- fins
- pull buoy
- socks to wear with fins to hold the fins on better
- flip flops
- soap
- Gatorade diluted with water, in a Nalgene bottle
