Nothing far from a crispy, fall day

The day started out with my internal alarm waking me at 4am. Now that has been three days this week that I have woken up between 4 and 430 without an alarm. The next time this happens, I am just going to get up and hit the gym at 5. Once I wake up like that, I don't sleep very well from then until my alarm goes off. My mind starts to wonder and I end up making mental notes of what needs to get done at work.

It felt like friday today and I was very disappointed to come to the realization that it was only thursday. The weather this morning was a chilly feeling with a bitter cold wind. Don't get me wrong, I love the change of seasons. It's one of my favorite reasons to live in the Midwest. The temperature is dropping, the colors will be changing, and the trees will start to become bare as the grass begins to turn from green to dark. Nothing far from a crispy, fall day.

This evening I made it to spin as scheduled. It had felt as if I hadn't been there in forever. It had been a week. Afterwards I got on the thrillmill and went at it. I wasn't too tired and still had some gas in the tank. I didn't have a plan as to how far I wanted to go. I got going and it took a few minutes to get my stride down, after being on the bike for almost an hour. But, I got into it and felt comfortable. As comfortable as one can be on that machine. I only did a very slow steady mile but it felt good.

Today's Workout:
18.23 miles OCN
1 mile ORN
one happy chica!

I can't believe I haven't realized how long I have had my current shoes. What the heck? I calculated that I have probably put 375 miles on these shoes running... more than I thought. Plus, I have worn them for spin over the past 11 months as well. Definitely time to purchase new ones.

Tomorrow ... is friday. And it's jeans day as well as favorite sports team t-shirt day. I suppose I should probably wash my Cuddyer shirt before tomorrow, huh?

This is probably a dumb question, but what does OCN and ORN stand for? TEACH ME O' WISE ONE! =)

Go get yourself some new shoes, that's just crazy!

Great job on getting up so early. It amazes me!

I wish I could just wake up at 4 a.m. I struggle when the alarm goes off a 7!

Great job on the spin and run!

how do you get a picture on the top of your blog like that, or on your profile?

Once you start waking up early it gets to be automatic. The only bummer for me is that I can't switch back and forth. Late to bed just means I wake up early & thrashed. I know the bike and treadmill indoors may not be your favorite, but you're still getting it done. Kudo's to you!

With school full-time, I'm finding that rising at 5am isn't as ridiculous as I once thought!

What? You live in the Midwest? I thought you lived above the Arctic Rim :-)

Nice spin! I so wish I was a morning peep. I guess now that I am getting up there in age, I should be waking up at 5 or 6 in the morning. Just ain't happening! LOL.

Won't be long now before that change of season reaches North Georgia. I luv that time of year too!

Ah, wish I could appreciate fall...all I see is the end of summer and the cold coming in and it makes me sad cause the days are also shorter and I just want to hibernate. Early morning workouts do have a nice advantage. I keep telling myself when I wake up at 5 I should just get up...

I do enjoy those crisp fall days, too. But, I'm not ready to let go of summer weather yet. (Guess it's not really up to me, is it?) Happy Friday!

Definately time for new shoes - I love my new pair and believe it had a huge impact on my hip. :)

I miss the Friday 'jeans and sports sweatshirt day'. In my school there was a huge battle between those that supported the UO Ducks and those who were OSU Beaver Believers. One year, the Friday before the big civil war game, Mrs.Sharples brought her 5th graders to my room for science and everyone of them was dressed in yellow & green and sporting pom poms and duck call whistles. I was the only one in black and orange. It was so fun. Come Monday, I was the one laughing - the Beavers won. :)

Hooray for new shoes!!! I wish I had the problem of waking up that early in the morning. I'd be so much more productive with workouts.

Keep it up!

I must be the only person that really doesn't dig fall. It just leads to one thing . . . winter :-(

That kidn of fall weather is exactly what I miss the most about living in the midwest. Enjoy it. It is still 100 degrees here on a daily basis.

Sadly if you're wearing the shirt in public, it probably does need to be washed. LOL!

Awesome job on the cycling and running.

Enjoy getting new shoes!!!

I read that biking beats up shoes even faster! They told me at the bike store that it compresses the cushion faster. Glad you got some new shoes!
