Saturday night my groin muscles were bothering me a bit and a couple of my half dozen blisters had already popped.
I think I know what may have caused the blisters to begin with .... I was wearing different socks. Different socks from any of my other long runs.
Damn girl... stupid. Live and learn.
Sunday I literally rolled out of bed. Sore from the hips down. Every stinkin' muscle to the touch.
Monday was better.... but still very sore ... and walking very slow.
Tuesday was decent and I was able to participate in Softball ... but that's a whole 'nother story because I stunk the night up good.
Now I am ready to get back into things and wondering ... what the heck and I gonna want to do next? I have a good triathlon I am looking at for September... but what until then?

You should run another half while you are waiting around :)
Don't temp me!
Welcome to the world of ibuprofen :-) I say load up on a few fun 5Ks and maybe a 10K. I like my schedule to be bizzy!!
Oh, and don't forget all the fun you are going to have riding that purty bike!!
Well, you do have the summer off, right? Plenty of time to train for something! Maybe the Twin Cities Half in October!
And you got those groin injuries, how? ROFLMAO I'm KIDDING!!
You could focus on the tri and train hard for that, or heck maybe find another half and go for a PR now that youve done one.
Between now and September there is:
- Bismarck Tri June 8
- Graniteman Tri July 12
- Younglife Tri Aug 17
- Lakes Country Aug 24
All within easy driving distance. Rest up and recover!
I've been in that same position before...wondering "what next?"
whatever it is...have fun with it!
About your question about what training plan I am using
I am using the Triathlete Mag Training plan book for my training plans. It has like 9 plans per distance from sprint to ironman and it even has offseason and weight lifting plans
Never change anything on race day! Hope you feel a-ok soon. No blister pictures??!
just enjoy your time and get out on the new bike!!!
small runs and swims will fill your time....
Bad on the socks!! Just a note, I always run in wright socks, double layer socks. I have never had a blister from them (they a double layer to prevent them) and I love them. They even have cushioned ones for long runs too.
