Yesterday, my short run through the neighborhood left my left knee feeling a little out of whack. Actually, it has kind of felt that way for the past few days. It really bothers me when I go down the stairs. Click. click. ouch. ouch.
On top of that, my left shoulder is a bit sore from softball practice. Yep. You heard it! I guess my swing isn't as strong as I thought!
So, with that ... I was not going to do my scheduled workout today. I don't want to aggrevate either by running and swimming.
WTF? I am an absolute mess! Is this some sort of mental game ... preparing me for the Half Marry in 11 days?
Instead I joined a friend for a nice 4 mile walk in beautiful ND! I have to brag, otherwise I am afraid we will lose it! 65 degrees. NO wind. No clouds. .... heaven!
Finish Strong, y'all!

Ha. I'm going thru it too. I start thinking of all these things that hurt. I cut my toe, my knee is hurting. I have to wear heels all week at the hotel and be on my feel for 12 hours a day! Mental, for sure.
The day before my first half marathon, I fell down the stairs at work. Luckily I caught myself and didn't do too much damange.
Mental - yes again.
You'll do great. YOu've been training like a mad woman.
Sorry to hear about your knee chica! You should be in rest and taper mode now. I hope its "race proximity" that's making it worse than it appears and it works out for you OK! Wishing the best!!
Its good that you are listening to your body and taking it easy today. You should be all better by the time the 1/2 Marry comes around
Ugh, I hope you feel better soon! I totally believe that we start to feel all sorts of stuff like that as race day approaches. Try to take care and hopefully you will feel better soon!
I am in Chicago right now, and I have to agree that the weather is amazing right now!
Hope the knee's ok. Don't worry though, feeling a few niggles during the taper is quite normal for me!
Rest up and you'll do great. 65 degrees - thats just perfect weather. Enjoy it!
OMG! 65F, no winds, no clouds. I'm green with envy here!
I can't believe your 1/2 is only 11 days away. I'm excited for you! I do hope that you give your knee as much rest as possible over the next few days.
We have had some amazing weather also.
I'm sure that you will be great in your race. Stay positive, and have fun with it.
Take er easy my lady! Go find a nice hunk to give you a massage too. That always helps, right? :P
click click?
it band??
like the new look of your bloggy!!!
Hey just my take but it sounds like "Runners Knee". I struggled with it until I finally got into the right shoe. I know it sounds simple but once I got in the right shoe all that pain went away.
Go to the runners world website and go through the injury section there is info on Runners Knee in there. Better that then an IT band, but the IT hurts on the outside of the knee, Runners knee just feels like a sore knee.
Wow! Great weather up north for ya, huh. About time! :-)
Take it easy girl... it's tough on our bodies when we add something else to the mix. I used to play softball too (slow pitch when I was in middle school). I loved it! Take care of that knee...
mmmm, if I were 11 days away from a 1/2, I wouldn't be playing ball. Those bursts of speed, stopping and starting, they are hard on your legs if you've playing hard...
take great care of yourself...
Those phantom aches always seem to crop up right before a big race -- don't worry they'll fade in time for the big day!
Isn't it nice that spring might FINALLY be here??
