HBBC & Christmas cards

I am seriously struggling with getting my 7 servings of fruits and veggies in every day for the HBBC. It definitely requires me to do a bit more planning when packing my lunch and making breakfast & dinner, but I guess that's the point right? In addition, I am finding myself snacking on more fruits and veggies throughout the day, rather than crackers or other not-so-healthy things. It's a good thing, but just a change in how I plan meals and grocery shop.

Yesterday I was so exhausted, I could bare stay awake around 7pm. I did some blogging, catching up on all your blogs, and was in bed and asleep by 830pm. I slept for 8 hours and was up and at the gym before work this morning. The plan was to do a short run and then get on the bike, but instead, I did a 3.3 mile run, and stretched for a good 15 minutes, thinking I would get in a ride on the trainer tonight. However, I don't have the motivation, or energy, to do that tonight.

My plan for tonight is to begin working on my christmas cards since I printed off my Christmas photo collage today. Once I get them all out in the mail, I will post that photo here on blogland for the rest of you to see!

Are you participating in the HBBC? How are you doing?

Are you doing Christmas cards and/or photos this year?

Hitting my 7 each day has been quite a challenge. I've managed it most days, but I definitely have to think about it.

We do a family photo for our cards every year. This year it was a picture taken while we were on vacation in Key West. I'll have to remember to post it on my blog in a few weeks.

I've been taking a photo of the kids each year for christmas cards, but this year i'm going to send it in thank you notes instead. I'm behind...

I also went to sleep super early last night...and I STILL couldn't get out of bed this morning! It must be something about that space between Thanksgiving and Christmas break because so many of my teacher friends are totally dragging right now.

Can't wait to see what your cards look like!

Yay for a 3.3 mile run, so your knee is doing better then?

seriously it totally takes some planning to get in the veggies, slowly it becomes more natural and then seems like it never shoudl ahve been so hard!

I am doing the HBBC and I love it! It is really motivating me to do a little more :-) In regards to the Christmas cards, I am too much of a procrastinator lately to get them out!

If I manage to earn one point from the fruits and veggies during the entire HBBC I think it will be a victory for me. So not a veggie person.

I just do the plain old Christmas card and stick in a letter each year. Can't wait to see your finished product!

DANG...I wish I could go to sleep that early. I'm so tired at 4pm...but then I make it to 7pm and I'm up for the duration (until 11pm or so)...which is why early morning workouts are PAINFUL to me.

I had never heard of the HBBC. Sounds like a great idea! Looking foward to seeing your cards. We did one with a picture of us and the 2 dogs. Our family I guess!

Those 7 F/V are hard for me too! Some days there is just no way I can do it!

Im doing HBBC and Im doing ok but its hard to keep up with leaders who are getting all those points from their long runs! Oh well - its still fun and motivating!

I am sending christmas cards - just not sure I will be including a picture!

Nice job on the 3.3 mile run- how did your knee feel?

I'm not doing the HBBC and didn't know what it was until I clicked on the link you provided.

We ARE doing Christmas cards- the photo ones you can print at Wal-Mart for $.40 each. Cheap and easy!

I just got my Christmas Cards out last night - have to start working in those!

HBBC is going well. I love the added motivation. Like you, I really notice that I have to work hard and PLAN to get those 7 F/V.

Ugh I am seriously not able to do the fruits and veggies for HBBC. I think I've gotten those points once. Fail!

fruits & veggies always take lots of planning. but they are so worth it. i've been taking some "vegetarian days" where i leave out the meat, and it seems funny to be bringing that much fruit into the office.

I'm excited to see your card! Mitch and I haven't really been on the ball this year, so I think we may end up sending New Year's cards instead of Christmas cards. IF we get around to that! ;)
