Click-Clack.....

.... Don't Come Back.

I couldn't believe how nice it was for my run this morning. What I really wanted to do was 4 miles today, and then 7 tomorrow. But, with how perfect the temperature was, I just had to go all the way. I chose an out-and-back path, mostly along the golf course, river, and through the park. There was just enough shade from the huge trees, and the breeze was wonderful!

The first 50 minutes were perfect. I ran about 7-9 minutes with 1 minute walk breaks. I felt like everything was insync. Then, I stopped to grab a powerade from the machine in the park, took a few minutes to drink it, and then was on my happy way.

About 7 minutes in, my right knee started making a clickity-clack noise. I stopped to walk, and ended up walking for almost 7 minutes. Talk about discouraging. The first half+ was wonderful... what's the deal now? I struggled with the last couple miles, taking more walk breaks than I wanted to.

But, I finished and tomorrow I will most likely take a rest day. Maybe I will go for a three mile walk with my sister.

Ah that stinks about your knee! It all sounded so nice! Your time still looks good for a longer run! :>) Nice job and I hope the knee is better tomorrow!

That doesn't sound good. Maybe you should try stretching before you resume running again after resting. I hope that your knee feels better next time. Oh the joys of running.

Werid - my knees have made this sound before and I have no idea what it is. It seems to go away after I stretch it out, though - hopefully the same is true for you!

Hmmmmmm, did the knee hurt too? Or was it just making that sound? I have a clicking ankle. It drives me nuts but never hurts.

oh, I'm so sorry about your knee. I hope you are feeling better soon. I've had a similar pain in my knee in the past but over time it lessened. I assume the tendons/muscles/etc strengthened with continual training. Just take it easy.

If you can figure out where the little red spout thingy goes you might try to WD-40 those knees, maybe they are just a bit rusty.

Did your knee hurt or was it just making a sound?

My body makes all kinds of creaking and cracking noises. I usually ignore them unless associate with pain.
