Morning vs. Evening

I go back and forth over what I like better, morning or evening workouts. But, being the morning person I am, there is no better feeling than getting morning workout in before heading off to work! While I was on the bike today, I thought about why I like my morning workouts over my evening workouts:

  • I don't fell rushed! The gym isn't as busy at 5am and I am able to hop from the bike to the treadmill or vice versa without having to worry about waiting for someone to finish. I don't have a lot of time, but even after a good 35-45 minute workout I am able to take some time to stretch. Very pertinent.
  • I feel better throughout the day. I have more energy and a happier person all around. Smiles from ear to ear all day long! Who da thunk?
  • I love the morning gym peeps. There's just something about the people at the gym at 5am. They are usually the regulars and I miss them. They're all smiles and everyone wishes everyone a good morning in passing.
  • More free time in the evenings. If I workout in the morning, I can usually be home from work by 4pm. With my "free" evenings, I find that I take more time for other low key, but important things while watching Oprah, PTI, or the evening news, such as: yoga, pilates, foam rolling, and my tri power routine.

I had two early mornings this week, and hope to shoot for 3 next week! Have a great weekend everyone! I am off to the Twin Cities this weekend for my brother-in-law's return party! He just spent a year in Iraq on his 2nd tour of duty!

Which do you prefer, morning or evening workouts?

I sleep better after an evening workout, but I prefer the morning workouts.

I, too, am a morning person. I get up around 5 and go to bed around 8:30. After lunch... I am pretty much a zombie.

I've never tried a morning workout bc I have to get up at 4am just to get ready for work! LOL

I have always been a big believer of AM workouts. I don't always get to do the early morning workouts, but they are good for energy and mood enhancement for the entire day! I definitely notice a difference in my mood throughout the day if I haven't exercised!

After incorporating these morning workouts over the last couple of weeks, I am definitely torn. I think I'd like to maintain a good mix of evening and morning workouts based on my schedule.

For me and my schedule it is easier to run in the evening during the week. Weekends I actually prefer to get my butt moving in the morning but I notice it takes a little longer for me to get in the groove. Great list with some good points. Have a great weekend:)

I mostly do evening workouts out of necessity. If Dee Dee ends up on the night shift on her job, I plan to get up and do my workouts in the morning so I can be there (and awake) when she gets home :-)

Yeah Im sure you know I love mornings. Especially the gym because there are not as many people and there are quite a few characters who I love to watch! I like having my nights free too and I am happier and more awake when I woke out in the mornings! I have noticed in the winter I am slower on morning outdoor runs...not sure why maybe cause its cold. But summer time I can run fast in the mornings no matter what...

I'm so not a morning person! Theoretically, I could do some kind of workout before the hubs leaves for work at 6:30 am. Not ever going to happen LOL.

So glad your BIL made it back and there's much to celebrate. Signed, Very Much a Morning Person and Runner

I've always been jealous of morning people. Getting up early and accomplishing something on a regular basis sets you off for the day in a great way. But my body doesn't like to function pre 8/9am. I wish I could do it. It's good to hear you've found a nice balance.

You listed some great benefits of morning workouts! Have a great time at the party this weekend. Welcome home to your brother-in-law!

I prefer morning workouts for all the same reasons. My workout this morning was a million times better than my afternoon workout the other day. Hope you have a great weekend!

morning for sure, BUT when i was single and living in NYC i loved running in the park at 6pm - it was great

I love morning workouts for the same reasons! I just feel better all day when I work out in the morning!

I definitely prefer morning workouts for all the same reasons you do. I really think if I didn't go to the gym first thing, I would never go. I get so tired after a long day and quickly lose motivation. I hate having a workout hang over my head!

love morning workouts, but they're not too early - at ~9 or 9:30 either after kid drop off, or when my gym's jr care starts.
It's the REALLY early workouts that are hard for me...and it's been a goal of mine to do at least 1 a week, haven't been successful yet...but i see it happening;-)

I agree about the morning workouts, however, I don't get a chance to do them because I am at work by 6AM most days. I am much happier when I get to do them before my day starts.

I had 3 morning workouts this week too! :) I would muh rather keep to the a.m. Love how I feel when I get off work & I can RELAX! :)

I definitely prefer mornings. I have much more energy then and I like the feeling of accomplishment that I have all day.

I agree that morning workouts seem to be the best for me, especially biking when I can take my fuel (breakfast) on the go in a bike bottle. One thing I have noticed is a much lower HR and the ability to push a little harder in the mornings and stay in my prescribed HR zones.

Please it is nice to be "done" for he day and if you feel like it get another workout in later in the afternoon or a yoga session at night to wind down.

doing hardcore workouts later in the day (after work) or at night seem to wind me up and make what is already tough for me to get (sleep) even tougher.

Usually I've been more of a morning work out person, and I am a morning person. But I wake up so early for work already that I have been more into afternoon/night work outs lately :)

I love mornings, but I can't seem to get up early enough to do them! So I usually get stuck doing my workout at the end of the day...when I LEAST want to do it. Of course :) I envy you your early mornings! I aspire to one day be the kind of runner that gets up at 5 and runs ten miles just to start my day.

Sigh.
One can dream.

I definately prefer morning. But I do sometimes run in the evening. But I never do weights or whatnot in the evening.

90% of the time I really prefer a morning workout, but some days the energy just won't get there so afternoon feels better...though I just end up thinking about it all day!

I would love to be a morning workout person but it simply does not work for me with my kids. We have a routine down for the afternoon now so I am finally feeling like it works for me.

I will have to say when I am on school vacation in a few weeks I will do the morning routine.

I'm torn just like you! They both have their good and bad points. The gym is so much better in the AM- fewer people and cooler people and free time in the evening is a wonderful thing. I agree w/ you 100% on all your points.

At the same time, some days, I'm so stressed/anxious when I leave the office, the evening workout is the perfect remedy. And I find I sleep better when I workout at night.

I prefer mornign sessions for teh very same reasons as you. I feel MUUUCH more productive and tuned in when I get my morning sessions in....

I love running at night, but not going to the gym. Although, there is nothing better than knowing you got your run/workout done early in the day so you just relax.

I'm totally not a morning person but I've noticed that when I exercise in the morning I'm much happier through out the day.

It is nice to have the evening free to do things, too!

Finally, realize that all the various bookmakers have their own rules and policies regarding how they settle bets done through arbitrage sports betting when they have such irregular results. As with the advice on pricing, be sure to check the rules of the individual bookmakers before you place your bets.

The Parlay System is one of the most famous of betting systems that are commonly used in horse racing. Many have said that contrary to other sports betting systems, the Parlay System has a pyramiding effect on your profit which means your winnings are played on successive wagers.

In July 2006 they finally got what they were hoping for when legislation was passed with a vote of 317 to 93. By passing legislation, it appears imminent that the Wire Act of 1961 is going to be updated to more closely coincide with the internet world of today. Basically, the Wire Act states that it is a felony to transmit bets via wire communications. The next step in the process is for the bill to go in front of the Senate. If they agree with the first round of voting it is safe to say that things are going to change drastically.

From the above, therefore, you can see that finding a good Selection System and sticking to it is the only way to go if you are truly serious about making money at sports betting.

One of the factors that can influence the outcome of your program is that many bookmakers set maximum stake limits which can keep you from placing your full wager, so make sure that there in no max limit with any of the bookies that you are dealing with.
bet football | bet online sport betting
The best sports betting odds are in actuality just numbers, they may be an ever changing set of numbers but just numbers nonetheless. There are many different factors involved in the computation of not the least of which is the number of bettors placing bets on one team. If a bookie sees this happening he will give the team that is dentified as the loser more points and take points from the team deemed the winning team.

The Paroli System, of all the famed sports betting systems, is thought to be opposite that of Martingale. Where the difference lies is on the scheme that with the Paroli System, you start with one wager and then up the wager when you win rather than with a loss. This system lets the profit run and cut short the losses, which makes it appealing due to the fact that you don’t have to have a lot of money to be able to use it effectively.

From the above, therefore, you can see that finding a good Selection System and sticking to it is the only way to go if you are truly serious about making money at sports betting.
